Program Offerings
Please select your favorite program:

  • "Aria"- the Duo's newest program being introduced for the first time this season, it features world-premiere Opera Aria arrangements of Mozart, Bellini, Wagner and Massenet, with highlights like Gershwin's "Summertime", Bizet's "Habanera", and Puccini's "O Mio Babbino Caro". The "Variations on a Theme from Mozart's Magic Flute" (for guitar solo) is a technical show stopper and a set of 20th century American Arias closes this unforgettable program.
  • "In the Blue Hour"- This is the Duo's ode to 'pure Romance', offered as a regular concert and especially for their Valentine Tour in February. It is an evening of love songs, including classical works by Mozart, Brahms, Fauré and Schubert (who wrote many of his original works for guitar when he couldn't afford a piano!). The program highlights greatest hits such as Schubert's "Ave Maria", the spell binding "Bachianas Brasilieras" by Villa-Lobos and the seductive Rachmaninov "Vocalise".
  • "The Water is Wide"- This program makes a very popular and successful 'event' for diverse audiences of all ages and tastes in music. The evening is a collection of great melodies from around the world, with American folk songs like "Tis a gift to be simple", colorful and bawdy folk songs from England and Spain and exotic melodies of Haiti and Puerto Rico. Two fiery Brazilian guitar solos open the second part of the program and are tremendous crowd pleasers, and the evening closes with highlights from American Cinema and Musical Theater, with unforgettable songs from Casablanca, Evita and The Phantom of the Opera. (Janet starred for two years in Andrew-Lloyd Webber's production in Vienna.)
  • "Love Songs and Lullabies" - The classical lullabies of Strauss, Brahms and Gounod are offered up alongside sweet serenades from Spain in new arrangements for voice and guitar. Many premiere works appear on the concert, including an African-Cuban lullaby for solo guitar, and exotic songs of living composers Dusan Bogdanovic and Morten Lauridson.
  • "Music for Awhile"- This is an all-Baroque program featuring some of the most ecstatic and intimate works of Bach, Purcell, and Dowland. Special highlights of this program include the beautiful Bach Ave Maria, and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (transcribed for solo guitar), Purcell's famous aria Dido's Lament, and a set of charming and humorous love songs by the great Italian Baroque composers, Pergolesi and Scarlatti.
